Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, announced today the list of speakers and performers who will participate in the all-day TEDxMet event scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Museum's Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium. The theme of the program is Icons. The Metropolitan Museum is the first art museum to receive a TEDx license to hold a conference in the style of the globally known TED talks.

The exhibition, on view from May 9 through August 14, 2013 (preceded on May 6 by The Costume Institute Benefit), will examine punk's impact on high fashion from the movement's birth in the 1970s through its continuing influence today.

Anna Wintour and Riccardo Tisci were among the select few to preview the upcoming Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibition 'Punk: Chaos to Couture.' Curator Andrew Bolton presented the audience with works from various designers including Vivienne Westwood, Rei Kawakubo, Rodarte, Versace, and a Chanel.

The spring 2012 exhibition organized by The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art features Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada: On Fashion. The exhibition, on view from today, May 10 through August 19, 2012, will explore the striking affinities between these two Italian designers from different eras. Inspired by Miguel Covarrubias's 'Impossible Interviews' for Vanity Fair in the 1930s, curators Harold Koda and Andrew Bolton will originate fictive conversations between these iconic women to suggest new readings of their most innovative work.

For tickets, call the Concerts & Lectures Department at 212-570-3949 or visit www.metmuseum.org/tickets, where updated schedules and programs (including additional lectures that are free with Museum admission) are available. Tickets are also available at the Great Hall Box Office, which is open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5:00, and Sunday noon-5:00.
