FC Films announced today the company is acquiring all U.S. rights to director Eran Creevy's action thriller WELCOME TO THE PUNCH from Worldview Entertainment.

According to IndieWire, Chris Cooper has been cast in the film adaptation of Tracy Letts' August: Osage County, alongside Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Cooper also joins the recently cast Andrea Riseborough.

The play, which originally premiered at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, opened on Broadway in December of 2007 and was the recipient of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Play.

The 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival announced the winners of its awards today at a prestigious ceremony held at Filmhouse, hosted by Grant Lauchlan of STV Moviejuice. Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.
