Former Saturday Night Live funny-girl Cheri Oteri joins the cast of off Broadway's NEWSical The Musical for four weeks only. NEWSical the Musical is the forever changing, completely un-sanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. From Bloomberg's sign language interpreter to Honey Boo Boo Child to the aftermath of the 2012 Presidential Election, NEWSicalthe Musical sets all of today's biggest pop culture headlines to song. Earlier this fall, celebrity gossip guru Perez Hilton joined the show for a limited run, followed by Broadway's original Annie, Andrea McArdle. Comedian Cheri Oteri is the next guest star to take the raucous stage. She'll appear in NEWSical The Musical from December3rd through December 30th.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) has announced that Stark Sands, star of TV (Six Feet Under), movies (Pack of Dogs, Shall We Dance) and stage (American Idiot, Tony nominee for the Broadway revival of Journey's End) will be offering up a preview of the new incoming musical Kinky Boots by Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein at the 2012 TRU Love Benefit. The event will be held Sunday, November 11th with cocktails and hors d'ouevres at noon, luncheon at 1pm and performances at 2pm. Attendees will get a preview of a new Broadway song as well as a new venue: it all takes place at the wild and notorious Lucky Cheng's, which only just recently opened its new branch at 240 W. 52nd Street in New York's theater district.

ANNIE, the new production of the Tony Award®-winning musical, opens November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). Happy Birthday Andrea McArdle! As 'Annie,' McArdle became the youngest performer ever to be nominated for a Tony Award as Best Lead Actress in a Musical. Also on Broadway, she starred in the Jerry Herman musical Jerry's Girls alongside Carol Channing and Leslie Uggams; she portrayed the sassy Smoking Car, Ashley, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express; and starred as Margy Frake in State Fair; as Fantine in Les Miserables and, most recently as Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

Tony nominee and Broadway's original Annie, Andrea McArdle, will be NEWSical The Musical's next special guest star. The ever-evolving musical of all the news that's fit to spoof welcomed celebrity gossip guru Perez Hilton last month as the show's inaugural guest star. Ms McArdle joins the cast from November 14th through December 2nd.

On the Thursday, Nov. 1st edition of the nationally-syndicated talk show, KATIE, Katie Couric, who's been known to belt out a show tune or two herself on occasion, sits down with the new Broadway cast of 'Annie' in their first national appearance. The November 1 broadcast of 'Katie' will devote the entire hour to ANNIE, now in previews on Broadway. The broadcast will include interviews with stars Katie Finneran (Miss Hannigan), Anthony Warlow (Oliver Warbucks) and Lilla Crawford (Annie), animal trainer Bill Berloni and Sunny (Sandy), original stage and film Annies, Andrea McArdle and Aileen Quinn, and the first network performances by Lilla Crawford and the Orphans (Madi Rae DiPietro, Georgi James, Junah Jang, Tyrah Skye Odoms, Taylor Richardson and Emily Rosenfeld). Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU), now celebrating its 21st year as a not-for-profit service organization, has announced a lineup of Broadway stars performing at their annual TRU Love Benefit, Making the Impossible Possible!. The previously announced honorees include producer Van Dean of The Broadway Consortium; director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell for his work with Broadway Bares; and legendary downtown entrepreneur Edith O'Hara and the 13th Street Repertory Company. The event will take place Sunday November 11th at the brand new midtown Lucky Cheng's at 240 W. 52nd Street, with generous sponsorship support from Peroni Beer, The Players Theatre, Pure Audio Systems and open captioning for people with hearing loss provided by C2 Caption Coalition. The festivities begin at noon with wine, drinks and appetizers served as only the Lucky Cheng's girls can serve them, followed by a luncheon at 1pm and the awards ceremony and performances at 2pm.

Masterworks Broadway announces the first collection of definitive recordings of every Rodgers & Hammerstein musical. The Skivvies are having a release party for their debut single, 'Hardbody Hoedown,' a bluegrass-tinged parody mega-medley of hip-hop songs about body parts. This will take place at the newly re-launched Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd St.) on Monday, October 29 at 7:30.

Broadway's Carols for a Cure, Volume 14, goes on sale Friday, October 19 with the voices of major talents, including Ricky Martin, Chita Rivera, Cyndi Lauper and more.

Broadway Records and 54 BELOW announced today that they have joined in partnership to create a series of albums recorded live at the brand new venue, 54 BELOW, located just steps away from the heart of Times Square. The album series will kick off with Patti LuPone and Andrea McArdle's recordings to be released on December 11th, 2012 and Norbert Leo Butz's recording due on January 15th, 2013. Patti LuPone's album will be produced by six-time Grammy nominee, Robert Sher, who previously worked with Patti on the Gypsy 2008 Broadway Cast Recording. The Andrea McArdle and Norbert Leo Butz albums will be produced by Aaron Ankrum, who worked with Broadway Records on Laura Osnes' "Dream A Little Dream" album. All three albums will be executive produced by Van Dean and Kenny Howard, of The Broadway Consortium, and Ken Mahoney.

Last night, October 9, The Iriduim Jazz Club welcomed Nicholas King, winner of the 2010 Julie Wilson Award and the 2012 Bistro Award for Outstanding Performer. King voiced the character of "Oscar" in Discovery Kids' "Kenny The Shark", and has opened for his mentor Liza Minnelli across the US since 2006.
