For its 85th season, Atlanta Ballet (AB) will turn the dial once more on its stout commitment to bring the best in ballet to Atlanta, evident by the 14-15 line-up announced today by artistic director John McFall.

Ballet San Jose will conclude its 2014 repertory season—the first under the leadership of new Artistic Director José Manuel Carreño—with Roland Petit's iconic story ballet, Carmen, and Twyla Tharp's masterful In the Upper Room in three performances May 9-11 at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts. Considered one of Twyla Tharp's most accomplished and striking works, In the Upper Room features a commissioned score by Philip Glass that both propels and liberates the dancers in Tharp's physically demanding choreography. Since its premiere in 1949, Carmen has remained one of inventive French choreographer Roland Petit's most popular ballets for its keen character studies, theatrical staging and soaring dances. Spring comes in leaps and bounds with the return of Philly's own modern dance company Philadanco performing Blood, Sweat, and Dance, Thursday -Saturday, April 17-19, 2014, at Perelman Theater. Known for their electrifying dance moves mixing energized modern dance with the elegance of classical ballet, Philadanco's new program highlights include the company premiere of 'Bad Blood,' a rarely performed piece by renowned choreographer Ulysses Dove; juxtaposed with the return of 'Philadelphia Experiment' by Philly-native and world renowned hip hop choreographer Rennie Harris; the late Philadelphia choreographer Gene Hill Sagan's classic, 'Suite en Bleu;' and acclaimed modern dance choreographer Donald Byrd's 'Bamm.'

The wide variety of American and international dance and ballet - which has been the hallmark of the Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center series over its eleven season history -- is highlighted in a diverse season of offerings for the 2014-2015 season, which takes place at three of the four major Music Center venues - the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre and Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Richmond Ballet has announced the return of the New Works Festival, the second installment of the Ballet's 2013-2014 Studio Series. The Festival - which will present four, new works in progress this season - is set to debut today, March 25-30, 2013, at the Ballet's downtown Studio Theatre.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival will present a concert open to the public for the first time in New York on Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014 at 7:45 p.m. at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Cary Hall, 450 West 37th Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. A special orchestra-the Cape Cod Gala Orchestra, conducted by Liam Burke-has been assembled for this occasion. Noted WQXR radio announcer Jeff Spurgeon will host the evening and Nancy B. Barry, First President of the Festival, as well as Honorary Artistic Chair Charles Hamlen, V.P. of Orchestra of St. Luke's and Co-Founder of IMG Artists, will be on hand for the event.

The Festival Ballet Theatre Presents Giselle, featuring Guest Artists from American Ballet Theatre Gillian Murphy and Cory Stearns, this weekend, March 22nd and 23rd.

For one weekend only, March 21-23, Atlanta Ballet will offer three unique works by three dynamically distinct choreographers at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre for its Modern Choreographic Voices (MCV) production.

Since its highly successful Broadway debut 80 years ago, Anything Goes has been revived multiple times and now receives a world premiere symphonic version with Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) and an all-star Broadway cast, Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10, as part of the ISO's Printing Partners Pops Series at the Hilbert Circle Theatre.

CEMA dance and Lindsey Mandolini present two New York premieres during DUAL PERSPECTIVE, a self-produced split-bill featuring innovative contemporary works from two young, Brooklyn-based choreographers. DUAL PERSPECTIVE will be held at the Center for Performance Research tonight and tomorrow, March 20 & 21 at 7:30pm.

Hotel Nikko San Francisco and Michael Feinstein announced that Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle award winner, Jason Graae, will bring his new one-man show, 49 ½ Shades of Graae, to Feinstein's at the Nikko for one performance only - tonight, March 20 (8 p.m.)

Three advanced Ballet Conservatory students from the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) placed at the top of their age divisions in the Classical Dance category of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) New England regional semi-finals, held February 7-9 in Providence, RI.

The critically-acclaimed KINGS OF THE DANCE makes its UK debut at the London Coliseum, today 19th - Saturday 22nd March 2014, showcasing the phenomenal artistry, style and power of its celebrated male dancers.

A previous commitment prevented me from reviewing the Ensemble for the Romantic Century's (ERC) Tchaikovsky: None But the Lonely Heart at the Brooklyn Academy of Music until now. Unfortunately, the production has closed but the memory lingers.

American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker, choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, is set to a score by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky and features scenery and costumes by Richard Hudson and lighting by Jennifer Tipton. The production was given its World Premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House on December 23, 2010.

Producers Erin Fogarty and Daniel Ulbricht have partnered with the American Cancer Society to present the fourth annual Dance Against Cancer on Monday, May 5, 2014 with cocktails at 6pm (VIP ticket only), followed by a performance at 7pm, and a post-show reception at the AXA Equitable Theater, 787 Seventh Avenue (between 51st and 52nd Streets), NYC. Tickets are $150 ($300 for VIP) and are available at www.dacny.org.

On March 15, 2014, American Repertory Ballet will hold its annual Gala performance and reception, Diamond Gala, in downtown New Brunswick, NJ. The performance will begin at 6:00pm at Crossroads Theater, and the reception will begin at 7:00pm across the street at the Heldrich Hotel. The reception, designed by Cassandre Snyder Events and Design, will include a gourmet dinner, dancing to the music of The Kenny i Orchestra, live and silent auctions, and more. Princeton Ballet School students ages 12-18 years can enjoy a Junior Gala party with dinner, dancing and silent auction, also at the Heldrich Hotel.
