Always a great treasure to the city, New York City Center's Fall for Dance opened its second program with great anticipation. For an affordable price, audiences get a glimpse of the wonderful world of dance, with access to some of the field's greatest visionaries from around the globe. With a roster that included breathtaking athleticism, a comical tap solo, intriguing minimalist ballet, and an entrancing African-urban fusion, Fall for Dance's second program of 2015 did not let the audience down. There is no wonder that this is perhaps one of the hottest tickets in town!

New York City Center adds second performance of Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun: In Concert starring Megan Hilty on Wednesday, October 28 at 7:30pm. The previously announced performance on October 27 is part of City Center's annual Gala. Three years after starring in the Encores! production of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Megan Hilty returns to City Center as Annie Oakley in this concert staging of Irving Berlin's classic 1946 musical. Hilty will be joined by a Tony-honored cast including Andy Karl, Chuck Cooper, Judy Kaye, Brad Oscar, and Ron Raines.

THE DEVIL'S BALL Set for Auditorium Theatre Tonight

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University's Auxiliary Board brings 'Old Chicago' back to the National Historic Landmark Theatre with the fifth annual The Devil's Ball, tonight, Oct. 2 from 7:30 - 11 p.m. The lobby of the iconic Auditorium Theatre is the backdrop for this unique gathering for its 300 expected guests. Revelers are treated to fabulous food, entertainment, theatre tours and more, as they raise funds and generate awareness for the preservation of the Auditorium Theatre as well as the Auditorium's diverse educational programming.  This year's new addition is a surprise live performance. Tickets are $65 through Today, Sept. 18 at midnight; $75 through Thursday, Oct. 1 at midnight and are available online at  AuditoriumTheatre.org. Tickets are also available at the door for $85 (cash only.) Joanna Rush's KICK to Open This Month at St. Luke's Theatre

Yonanda Productions & Piccolo Productions, in association with Wendy Taucher Dance Opera Theater, present KICK, a darkly comic solo play written and performed by Joanna Rush.  Directed by Tony Award nominee Lynne Taylor-Corbett, KICK opens at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, NYC on Sunday, October 25th at 7 PM for an open-ended engagement. 

Coyote Dancers to Pay Tribute to Dudley Williams, 10/23-25

Maher Benham and Coyote Dancers announce three evenings of works choreographed by Ms. Benham, and dedicated to her company's beloved teacher, mentor, and friend Dudley Williams (1938-2015).   The evening will feature the world premiere of Ms. Benham's 'A Song for Dudley,' along with Coyote repertory works, including 'Eight for Martha,' dedicated to Martha Graham, October 23-25 at the Martha Graham Studio Theatre.  The Coyote resident ensemble of 16 dancers will be joined by distinguished guests Carlos Fittante, Lucy Postell, Jon Warren (musician), and Deborah Zall.   Presented by Maher Benham and Coyote Dancers in collaboration with Deborah Zall and Classic Contemporary Dance Heritage, Ltd.

The Minstrel Show Revisited questions and critiques the 19th Century black-faced entertainment genre whose legacy is still felt today and continues to play a significant role in cultural stereotyping. Nimbus Dance Works to Host 2015 Gala in October

Last year the School of Nimbus Dance Works gave over $30,000 in scholarship funds to Jersey City youth, to ensure access to high quality dance training, regardless of financial situation. Nimbus' youth programs broaden young peoples' horizons and enrich the community with world-class arts. While remaining true to the company's community mission, up to now, scholarship money has come from the company's general operating budget. The 2015 Gala raises funds to offset the expense of the scholarship program, ensuring that this program, and Nimbus Dance Works are sustainable for the long term benefit of Jersey City.
