Joe's Pub at The Public partners, once again, with Philadelphia's renowned Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the guidance of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, and Shanta Thake, Director of Joe's Pub, the intensive program serves as an incubator for artists and collaborators to create and develop innovative new musical theater projects and music. The program will be held in the Kimmel Center's SEI Innovation Studio (300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA) from June 5-18 with free public workshops with audience feedback and Q&A on June 16 and 17.

American Theater Company (ATC) is proud to announce its Season 33, which kicks off this October with the world premiere of Janine Nabers' Welcome to Jesus, directed by Artistic Director Will Davis, October 26-December 3, 2017.

For three nights in March, a former medical marijuana dispensary in Seattle's University District will transform into a makeshift theatre cafe. Inspired by Joe Cino's legendary Greenwich Village performance space, Caffe Cino, the space will house performances of six short plays from the early days of Off Off Broadway.

Telling stories, singing, and performing, she made me laugh, she brought tears to my eyes, she made me believe, at least for a little while, that there is a light at the end of this tunnel we've found ourselves in (or perhaps, put ourselves in). This BLACK LIGHT is shining through at St. Paul's Penumbra Theatre for a short time only, so don't miss your chance to experience what truly is 'a soulful embrace of life and love.'

The Board of Directors and leadership staff have decided that it is no longer in the best interest of the company's artists and audiences to renew their lease, which was set to expire in March 2017, and to close the theater at 46 Walker Street immediately.

Five years ago, New York audiences and critics alike swooned over the Soho Rep. production of Jones's Radiate. David Rooney in his New York Times Critics' Pick review declared, 'Radiate glows, making it hard not to surrender to this sequin-encrusted earth mother's soulful embrace.' Hilton Als in The New Yorker said, 'What we learn from Jomama's very particular radiance is this: you don't have to reduce the musical form to a musical just to make it more digestible. If you make a good, less reductive, and more grownup show, the people will come.'
