42nd Street Jazz Festival at Theater Row Set for 12/16-23

NYU Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts Professions, New York Foundation for the Arts, Yamaha Pianos, RS Berkeley Horns, presents the 42nd Street Jazz Festival, from December 16-23, 2013 at Theater Row, 410 W. 42nd Street, NYC. Performances: Monday- Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm. Tickets are $21.25 and are available at telecharge.com.

Miller Theatre Opens Jazz Series with Anat Cohen Tonight

All Nite Soul to Honor Barry Harris & Sheila Jordan, 10/13

All Nite Soul, the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's will honor pianist Barry Harris and vocalist Sheila Jordan. All Nite Soul begins on Sunday, October 13 at 5 PM with Jazz Vespersand pianist/organist Sarah McLawler and Les Jazz Femmes, and goes into full swing at 7 PM with a concert of over 80 musicians honoring Barry Harris (pianist) and Sheila Jordan (vocalist), National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters who began their musical careers in Detroit, Michigan.

The Walters Art Museum and the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) present the Sondheim Artscape Prize: 2013 Finalists. On view at the Walters today, June 29-August 11, 2013, the exhibition showcases artwork by the finalists for the annual Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize, a $25,000 fellowship that is given each year to a visual artist or visual artist collaborators living and working in the Greater Baltimore region. M&T Bank has partnered with BOPA to establish the M&T Bank Sondheim Finalists' Awards, which provide a $2,500 honorarium for each of the remaining finalists not selected for the fellowship.
