On Tuesday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m., Museum of the Moving Image and The Comedy Hall of Fame will present an evening with Alda to celebrate and examine the story and the legacy of his iconic creation and how it transformed the audience's experience of the Vietnam War. The discussion, "The Rationalist: Alan Alda as Hawkeye Pierce in M*A*S*H," presented with clips, will be moderated by Jeff Greenfield, television journalist and historian. This program is the inaugural event in a new series of high-profile personal appearances, Iconic Characters of Comedy, focused on the impact of comedy delivered through the medium of television on the consciousness of the American public.

On Sunday, November 10, Alan Alda and Joe Mantegna will host HOMEWARD BOUND, a live four-hour national telethon to support American veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Presented by Haven from the Storm and broadcast by the Military Channel, the telethon will be broadcast from the historic American Legion Hall #43 in Hollywood from 7:00-11:00 PM (ET), with phone banks manned by veterans, celebrities, and dignitaries. Multiple Emmy-winner Gary Smith is executive producer, Lee Miller is producer and Gail Purse is co-producer/talent executive.

Laurence Fox, Jack Huston, Christian McKay, Miranda Raison, Imogen Stubbs and MyAnna Buring will star in Strangers on a Train by Craig Warner, which will be presented at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End by Barbara Broccoli, Colleen Camp, Michael G Wilson, Lucky VIII/Lou Spisto, Frederick Zollo and Michael Rose Limited for Strangers (UK) Limited. The production, directed by Robert Allan Ackerman, will preview from Saturday 2 November. This gripping thriller is based on Patricia Highsmith's acclaimed novel, which was the inspiration for Alfred Hitchcock's legendary movie.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) will kick off the fourth season ofPUBLIC FORUM with the new series Drama Club, a book club for plays that will feature one-night-only readings and discussions of works by Kia Corthron, Tony Kushner, and Thornton Wilder at Joe's Pub. Curated by Jeremy McCarter, the popular PUBLIC FORUM series presents the theater of ideas: conversations and performances with leading voices in politics, media, and the arts.
