Music Theatre of Connecticut MainStage, Fairfield County's award-winning professional theatre company, opens their 2012/2013 Season with the area premiere of 'Next to Normal.' This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical is currently running through November 4 at MTC Studio Theatre in Westport. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production below.

Michael Weston replaces Justin Long in Center Theatre Group's production of the Tony-nominated "Other Desert Cities" by Jon Robin Baitz. Weston joins the previously announced Jeannie Berlin, Robert Foxworth, Robin Weigert and JoBeth Williams. Long has bowed out due to a film commitment.

As Variety reported earlier this evening, David Fincher is allegedly courting Brad Pitt to star in his planned remake of 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA for Disney.

Center Theatre Group's Robert Egan will direct Jon Robin Baitz's "Other Desert Cities" at the Mark Taper Forum. The play that received a 2012 Tony nomination for Best Play will be presented in its West Coast premiere at the Taper and will close out the Taper's 45th season at the Los Angeles Music Center. The presentation of "Other Desert Cities" runs November 28, 2012, through January 6, 2013, with the opening set for December 9.
