Tony, Grammy and Emmy winning star Audra McDonald returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts for an up close and personal concert on Friday, May 11, 2018 in the Rene?e and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Accompanied by her trio, McDonald will bring her vivacious personality and artistry to hit show tunes, classic film songs and selections written expressly for her by many of today's leading composers. The New York Times wrote of her Carnegie Hall concert, "That sense of excitement, in which she tugs a song forward emotionally, is inherent in the quickness and tang of her vibrato, as though feelings are pouring out of her almost faster than they can be reined in."

Curvy Widow, a new musical comedy with a book by Bobby Goldman, music and lyrics by Drew Brody (Broadway: Oh Hello; Cutman), and directed by Peter Flynn (Rhapsody in Seth; Two Rooms), will play at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Just last night, the NYCLU (New York Civil Liberties Union) hosted its 15th Annual 'Broadway Stands Up For Freedom' Concert, and Mr. Harry Belafonte was honored with the inaugural 'Freedom Award' for his lifetime dedication to fighting for civil rights and civil liberties.

The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced today a star-studded lineup of performers for the annual benefit concert, "Broadway Stands Up for Freedom," which will take place on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.  This iconic concert was created 15 years ago by aspiring musical theater actors to highlight social injustices and civil rights issues through song and spoken word.

Broadway stars Jessie Mueller (Tony Award, BEAUTIFUL), Chesney Snow (IN TRANSIT), Adrienne Warren (SHUFFLE ALONG), Christopher Jackson (HAMILTON), and BD Wong (M BUTTERFLY) joined 60 students from ROSIE'S THEATER KIDS - the musical theater and education organization for NYC public school students -- on stage at the school's annual spring benefit evening, entitled 'Passing It On' at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College (68 St. between Park and Lexington Avenues) on Sunday evening, April 23. Feinstein's/54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Samantha Spade, Ace Detective, a film-noir-detective-story-musical (in black and white), on April 25, 2017 at 7:00pm. Originally written for young people to perform at TADA! Youth Theater, this one-time concert event features a grown-up Broadway cast, including Tony nominees Adrienne Warren (Shuffle Along) as Veronica Venus and Marc Kudisch (Finding Neverland, Hand to God) as the villainous Greenstreet, along with Caitlin Kinnunen (Bridges of Madison County, The Prom) as Samantha

Carnegie Hall is home to some of the greatest 'serious' music created by mankind and when Maestro and Music Director Steven Reineke takes the stage with the 78 member New York Pops Orchestra it's also about great music, great entertainment, and great fun.   The final concert of the season was titled 'You've Got a Friend: A Celebration of Singers and Songwriters and it featured guest artists Will Chase, Christopher Jackson, Jessie Mueller and Adrienne Warren.
