Bay Area Cabaret presents the one and only Broadway legend Chita Rivera in a unique solo concert event celebrating her 80th Birthday: CHITA: A LEGENDARY CELEBRATION. The nine-time Tony nominee, two-time Tony Award winner (Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Rink) and first Hispanic woman ever to receive the Kennedy Center Honor, will share perspectives and recreate signature moments from her legendary career.

The full cast for Rent - 20 Anniversary Concert has now been announced. Leading the cast is West End and Broadway star Kerry Ellis, who will be joined by Superstar runner up Rory Taylor. Mykal Rand will join the production, returning to the role of 'Collins', which he has played both in the West End and on tour.

Today we are talking to a talented and versatile stage and screen star who has created a lead role in one of the most iconic musicals of the last century as well as crafted a remarkable resume beyond even the Pulitzer Prize-winning RENT - Anthony Rapp. In honor of his spectacular guest starring turn on USA's hit detective series PSYCH in a special event titled PSYCH: THE MUSICAL, Rapp discusses his participation in the series as well as shares his enthusiasm for the impressive score and plethora of performances by the company of actors. Also, taking a look back at his theatre career thus far, Rapp discusses his continuing legacy as one of the prime interpreters of rock musicals in the modern theatre, having famously starred in not only the original production and feature film adaptation of Jonathan Larson's RENT, but also appeared in noted productions of HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH and NEXT TO NORMAL's forerunner, FEELING ELECTRIC - not to mention the hotly anticipated new contemporary musical IF/THEN, in which he stars alongside fellow RENT alum Idina Menzel and which is set to open on Broadway in 2014 following a recent Washington, D.C. tryout. Bay Area Cabaret celebrates the New Year by welcoming back Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist/vocalist John Pizzarelli and Broadway actress/singer Jessica Molaskey. The charming husband and wife duo will perform their critically acclaimed Cafe Carlyle show This Must Be the Place, which The New York Times called, 'brilliant,' praising Ms. Molaskey as 'a singer whose radar yields infallible insight into a song's emotional crosscurrents.' Pizzarelli and Molaskey will perform 5pm, Sunday, January 19, at the historic Venetian Room of the Fairmont San Francisco, 950 Mason Street. Tony-Winning MEMPHIS Headed to West End in 2014?

When the Tony-winning MEMPHIS closed on Broadway in 2012, producers announced that a West End production was coming soon. According to the UK Daily Mail, soon could be in 2014, at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London's West End, following a scheduled run of THE PAJAMA GAME.

Happy Birthday Adam Pascal! Pascal received Obie and Theatre World awards and Tony and Drama Desk nominations for best actor for Rent. On Broadway, he also originated the role of Radames in the hit musical Aida and starred as the Emcee in the long-running revival of Cabaret. His film credits include Rent, School of Rock, SLC Punk!, Temptation and Goyband. He most recently starred in Memphis on Broadway.

Spotlight on Broadway-an interactive website and multi-media project featuring the history of Broadway-has officially launched with 40 videos that chart the evolution of Broadway's 40 official theaters and honor the thousands of men and women who have worked on Broadway. Developed by the City of New York Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, in partnership with The Broadway League, each video was filmed inside one of the Broadway theaters and features insightful interviews with some of Broadway's most legendary performers and creative professionals.
