Historic adaptation of PORGY AND BESS returns to National Theater.

Tickets for The National Tour of THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS, winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival, are now on sale. Part of the BROADWAY PHILADELPHIA season, presented by the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Shubert Organization, THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS arrives at the Academy of Music for a limited engagement beginning Feb. 18 - 23. The official press opening is Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

Set in a garage in suburban Long Island, THE BLACK SUITS tells the tale of four boys (lead singer, guitar, bass and drums) who are preparing for stardom by way of the St. Anne's Battle of the Bands. The band and the music give focus and sustenance to the boys whose lives are filled with teenage angst and longing, struggles with friends and girlfriends, and the need to make choices.

Jennifer Barnhart - who made her Broadway debut in 2003 in the original cast of the Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q - returns to the long-running hit at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.) starting with the Monday, November 11 performance at 8 pm. Ms. Barnhart will perform the roles she helped create over 10 years ago: as a Bad Idea Bear, kindergarten school principal Mrs. T, as well as her trademark 'second-hand' work with puppets Nicky and Trekkie Monster.

The world premiere of "The Black Suits" opened on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the Center Theatre Group/ Kirk Douglas Theatre. With music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, book by Iconis and Robert Emmett Maddock, direction by John Simpkins, choreography by Jennifer Werner and music direction and orchestrations by Charlie Rosen, "The Black Suits" continues performances through November 24, 2013. This classic American musical will be performed on the Browning Mainstage of the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts, 130 Edgar Road (on the campus of Webster University), Webster Groves, tonight, September 11-October 6, 2013.

Rod, the puppet star of the Tony Award-winning musical AVENUE Q -- who made international headlines on July 24, 2011 when he married his puppet boyfriend Ricky on the first day same-sex marriage became legal in the State of New York -- has himself been invited to the same-sex wedding of Mississippi couple Scott Barnes and Gary Holcomb in Washington, DC on Sunday, September 1. Sadly, Rod has sent his regrets to the grooms since Sunday is a two-show day at AVENUE Q and he is obligated to perform in the musical, now in its 10th year in New York.
