On Friday, April 20, authors Veronica Loving and Jazzmine Jackson of the self-published memoir 'Feeding A Monster' amazed audiences during the opening premiere with their stage play adaptation of the book. The stage play was unlike any other play that addressed sexual assault. It followed the real-life story of Loving and Jackson who were victims of a masked predator who happened to be the husband, father, and athlete of the mother and daughter duo.

The Shaker Heights High School Theatre Arts Department presents the thirty-fifth festival of new plays, written, directed, performed and co-produced by students, Stages 35: Shaker New Plays Series, March 15, 16, 17 & 18 at 7 PM with a 9:15 PM show on Friday, March 17 in our intimate black box theatre, Stage 3. Six one-act plays will be presented as part of a full season of theatrical events, which began with Urinetown and concludes with Nevermore: A Spring Ensemble Show, in April.

L.A. Theatre Works celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2014-15 with a season of ten radio-theater productions, each recorded by a star-studded cast in front of a live audience for future radio broadcast, distribution on CD, digital download and online streaming. All performances take place at the 300-seat, acoustically vibrant James Bridges Theater located on the campus of UCLA in West Los Angeles. In addition, the company heads out on its 10th annual national tour.

Ceremonies opened the door for new generation of African American playwrights, August Wilson among them. Emmy Award winner Glynn Turman (The Wire), Tony nominee Rocky Carroll (Navy NCIS) and John Cothran, Jr. (Black Snake Moan) are set to head the cast when L.A. Theatre Works records five performances of Ceremonies in Dark Old Men to air on its nationally-syndicated radio theater series, The Play's The Thing, which broadcasts weekly on public and satellite radio.
