Get the scoop on the new musical, based on the 1997 cult classic, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, is written by the film’s screenwriter, Robin Schiff, features a thrilling new score by Gwendolyn Sanford and Brandon Jay (“Orange is the New Black”), choreography by Peggy Hickey (Anastasia), scenic design by Scott Pask (Waitress, Mean Girls) and is directed by Kristin Hanggi (Broadway's Rock of Ages).

“Turner & Hooch” stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed by Tom Hanks in the 1989 film of the same name.

CBS today announced that the drama series RANSOM has been renewed for a second season. The 13-episode order will be filmed in Hungary for broadcast next year. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

This summer, two of the quirkiest and most endearing best friends in pop culture will make their musical theater debut at The 5th Avenue Theatre in the World Premiere production of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, running June 8-July 2, 2017. Based on the 1997 cult hit film, Romy and Michele will star Cortney Wolfson, who previously starred in Kinky Boots on Broadway, as Romy and Stephanie Renee Wall, who starred as Elsa in Disney's Frozen Live, as Michele alongside a sensational cast of locally and nationally acclaimed actors. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the duo in costume below!

Take a silly yet beloved movie that breeds nostalgia in all who love it and turn it into a musical. It's the way of the world of musical theater anymore. Sure, we still get some original pieces but the safe money for producers is on the recognizable name. Sometimes it works and sometimes it crashes and burns. A cute and quirky little romp that has potential but needs some serious help before it falls into the 'it works' category.
