William Pereira

Based on Book IV of the Aeneid, the opera was composed in 1688 and is considered one of the great works of English Baroque. Unprecedented montage has scenic direction by William Pereira and musical direction by Luis Otavio Santos, who commands the Orchestra do Theatro Sao Pedro. The performances take place on the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th of March.

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

Theatro Sao Pedro announces its 2022 season. The lyrical series will include eleven titles: La Serva Padrona; Livietta and Tracollo; The Capulets and the Montechios, by Bellini; West Side Story; Lecture on Waterbirds; Threepenny Opera, by Weill; Ariadne in Naxos, by Strauss; Viva La Mamma, by Donizetti and El Barberillo de Lavapies, among others.

'A Christmas Survival Guide,' conceived and written by James Hindman and Ray Roderick with musical arrangements by John Glaudin, is opening December 1 at the Granite Theatre. CALENDAR GIRLS is a charming story about some Yorkshire women who think outside the box in order to raise money to celebrate one of their late husbands.  The ladies of the Women's Institute sell a calendar every year as a fundraiser, but the calendar is usually pictures of local churches or similar.  This time, they decide to get a bit risque', but also run the risk of running afoul of the head of the national Women's Institute.  It's a charming play that is genuinely funny, and the cast of the Granite Theatre are clearly enthusiastic, unfortunately the production is marred by numerous technical elements that normally an audience doesn't even notice, but when they do, it creates something that's hard to watch.

The Granite Theatre of Westerly, announces the opening of Tim Firth's delightful comedy "Calendar Girls" is the true and "revealing story" of a women's group in England who decided to drop everything to raise money for a new settee for the hospital waiting room in honor of one's husband who died of leukemia.  The news of the "alternative calendar" charitable venture spread like wildfire and ultimately raised over a million dollars.  Alternately dazzlingly funny and shamelessly sentimental this delightful play tells the story of their journey.  The show opens Friday June 30, 2017 and runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm through July 30, 2017.   Producer/ Artistic Director for the theatre is David Jepson.

Four legendary women -- Production Designer Carmen Dillon, Production and Costume Designer Patricia Norris, Art Director and Set Designer Dorothea Holt Redmond and Illustrator Dianne Wager -- will be inducted into the Art Directors Guild (ADG) Hall of Fame at the Guild's 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, it was announced today by ADG Council Chairwoman Marcia Hinds and Awards Executive Producer James Pearse Connelly. The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 31, 2016.
