Storyhouse Announces Season 11


New adaptations of The Suicide and Miss Julie and Jessica Swale's acclaimed drama Blue Stockings will be staged at Storyhouse in Chester this spring as the venue continues its Season 11 of drama.

Award-Winning Director Jonathan Eagan's Sophomore Short RAKE, Now Ready for the Film Circuit


Editor-turned award-winning short film director, Jonathan Eagan (Workin' Moms, Letterkenny, What Would Sal Do), and Tania Thompson (The Lockpicker, Love Bent, Bitches Love Brunch) are pleased to announce that their short film, Rake, starring an ensemble cast which includes newcomers Sam Davey, Andrew Cox, Devon Hauth (Mimicry), and Madi Violet Graves (Meet Ronald, Famous Feuds), has completed post-production and is ready to start the festival circuit. Rake, a drama told over one summer night in Toronto, is the second short film from Eagan, who also wrote the screenplay, and is made under his banner, 463 Films, in partnership with Thompson's company, Refinery. Eagan and Thompson serve as producers.

The UK premiere of Alfred Hitchcock's supreme comedy of suspense North by Northwest, adapted by Carolyn Burns and directed by Simon Phillips, has just revealed a first look at the cast in action. Following its world premiere in Melbourne, the new stage adaptation of Hitchcock's film will run at Theatre Royal Bath until 12 August, with opening night for press on Monday 31 July. THE THREE LIONS Returns For UK Tour Prior To St James Theatre, Mar 2015


Following a critically acclaimed run at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe, William Gaminara's comedy The Three Lionsreturns for a national tour and run at St. James Theatre, London. The production begins its tour at Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford (2 - 7 March 2015), before travelling to the New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich (9 - 14 March 2015) and Liverpool Playhouse (16 - 21 March), ahead of a six week run at St James Theatre. There it will open on 26 March, with previews from 24 March, and run until 2 May. Philip Wilson directs Dugald Bruce-Lockhart, Tom Davey and Sean Browne - recreating their roles of David Beckham, David Cameron and Prince William from the original run.

BWW Reviews: WATER BABIES, Curve Theatre Leicester, May 6 2014


New musical theatre is often showcased in fringe venues to test the water and see if the show could have success on a larger platform. Water Babies, however, has its first outing on the stage of one of the largest producing houses in the country, the Curve in Leicester. The production values are extremely high and it is evident that there is a lot of belief in this project. Judging by what I witnessed last night, this production absolutely needs and deserves a future.
