National Theatre of Scotland in association with leading children's arts organisations Starcatchers and Imaginate is connecting with families at home during the COVID crisis. A new digital Play Dates programme of online arts workshops and activities has been created specially for this ongoing period, whilst schools are off.

A new play with original music forming part of the National Theatre of Scotland's Home Away Festival (performing in Glasgow on October 8), Reprise will return to Chicago for public performances November 4-5.  School matinees are scheduled for November 1-10.  ASC also announces the postponement of Jack's House.  All performances take place at Northwestern Settlement's Vittum Theater, 1012 N. An old man returns a violin to Northwestern Settlement. Ms. Harriet Vittum lent it to him 80 years earlier with the promise that he bring it back when he was done. With original music and lyrics inspired by Chicago's cultural traditions, Reprise follows an immigrant story as we discover what he did with the instrument all those years, how he knew he was finished, and what it meant to keep his promise.

Pride Films and Plays has announced the results of our LezPlay contest. The judges have named five finalists, including a teleplay and four stage plays. and these writers will have their scripts presented as staged readings during LezPlay Weekend, which runs September 11-13 at the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted.

As they head into their fourth season, Broken Nose Theatre (BNT) is establishing itself as one of the city's first exclusively Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) storefront theatre companies. Beginning in September, all performances of any BNT MainStage production will fall under their new "We Set the Stage, You Set the Price" initiative, placing the reins in the hands of their audience members.
