Lenelle Moise BIO

Lenelle Moïse is a screenwriter, poet, and playwright. Her romantic comedy K-I-S-S-I-N-G won the 2023 Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding New Script. The play's world premiere, co-produced by the Huntington Theatre and the Front Porch Arts Collective, won eight Elliot Norton Awards overall.

Moïse's Off-Broadway credits include Expatriate (Culture Project). She has written short plays for Baltimore Center Stage's My America series and The New Black Fest's Untamed. Her other full-length plays include Purple (Kitchen Theatre Company) and Merit (a Ruby Prize winner, featured on the Kilroys List).

Moïse was the Spring 2018 Playwright-in-Residence at Ithaca College, the 2017 Lakes Writer-in-Residence at Smith College, a 2017 Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellow in Dramatic Writing, and a Huntington Playwriting Fellow.

Her book of poems, Haiti Glass (City Lights Books), was a Lambda Literary Award finalist and a PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award winner.

The Front Porch Arts Collective Announces 2022-2023 Season


The Front Porch Arts Collective has announced its two-play 2022-2023 season, which includes Broadway hit Chicken & Biscuits and romantic comedy K-I-S-S-I-N-G.  Performances will begin in the fall of 2022, with one production taking the stage at the Wimberly Theatre in the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA in Boston's South End.

National Black Theatre to Present UN-TAMED


In celebration of Women's History Month, Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE will present a six (6) performance limited engagement of UN-TAMED: Hair Body Attitude. Created by The New Black Fest (TNBF) and guest-curated by Dominique Morisseau (author of NY TIMES CRITICS PICK Skeleton Crew and Sunset Baby), UN-TAMED is a collection of five (5) short plays by Black Women that explore and dig into the national conversation surrounding Black womanhood and social perceptions of Black femininity. This production will be co-directed by award winning directors Kaia Calhoun and Elizabeth Van Dyke.
