The Young People's Chorus of New York City, founded in 1988 by Artistic Director and MacArthur 'genius' Fellow Francisco J. Nuñez on a mission of diversity and artistic excellence, celebrates its next 25 years with a gala benefit concert at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, followed by a festive dinner at the Mandarin Oriental. It all begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014, with all proceeds benefitting the almost 1,400 children, ages 7 to 18, in YPC's award-winning after-school and in-school programs.

Beginning with a capacity-filled Carnegie Hall concert and followed by a gala reception in the Grand Ballroom of the Plaza Hotel, the February 11 gala benefit evening celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Young People's Chorus of New York City founded by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez has turned out to be the most successful in the chorus' history, benefiting an organization that has transformed the lives of thousands of children. The Young People's Chorus of New York City celebrates the 25th anniversary of its founding by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, with a festive benefit concert at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium Monday, February 11 at 7 p.m. Renowned soprano Renée Fleming hosts a star-studded array of well-wishers from the worlds of classical, pop, jazz, Broadway, and dance. They include Broadway/concert artist Capathia Jenkins, emerging young singer-songwriter Kate Davis, the Antonio Ciacca Jazz Trio, and the Stephen Petronio Dance Company, who will join the Young People's Chorus of New York City and The New York Pops in a spectacular showcase, musically launching them into their second quarter century.
