Founded in 2021 by multi-disciplinary artist Benjamin Bass, Broken Mirror Studio strives to provide the Philadelphia area with an artistic sanctuary dedicated to the continued development of craft, the exploration of ideas, and the building of community.

The Town Hall has announced that stage and screen star Nathan Lane will moderate a special evening with Hollywood icon Steve Martin and artist Harry Bliss, as they reflect on their new book Number One Is Walking - My Life In the Movies and Other Diversions (Celadon Books). The live evening will take place on November 15 at 8pm at The Town Hall.

With CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION, a powerful and insightful early work by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker, Eagle Theatre will present a night of unforgettable theatre that skillfully proves why the ability to connect and emphasize with others is more vital than ever, through the story of five individuals whose community center theatre classes change their lives forever. CIRCLE MIRROR TRANSFORMATION will run May 12-29 at the Eagle's historic downtown Hammonton venue.

The original music from off-Broadway's THE WOODSMAN - The Tragic Story of The Tin Man is available in a solo recording, composed and performed by violinist Edward W. Hardy. The album is produced by Jim McElwaine, and recorded and mixed by Jonathan Jetter at Right Angle Recording, New York, NY. Coming off the heels of another politically-charged play ALL THE WAY that they presented last month, Orange County's Tony Award-winning regional theater South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa is following up that searing drama with a staging of a brand new production of playwright Aaron Posner's DISTRICT MERCHANTS, a clever, thoughtful, and occasionally humorous re-imagining of William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice. This time around, the play-a self-aware comedic drama set during America's post-Civil War Reconstruction era-continues performances through October 23, 2016.

DISTRICT MERCHANTS, Aaron Posner's new adaptation of Shakespeare's THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, explores the 'other-ness' of being outside the white male stations of power. Setting the work in post-Civil War Washington, D.C., the premiere takes a uniquely American look at race, religion, class and gender. DISTRICT MERCHANTS at the Folger Theatre is an important and compelling work that deftly balances humor among weightier, thought-provoking moments.

Concluding its highly successful 2015/16 season, Folger Theatre stages the world premiere of District Merchants, a variation of Shakespeare's play, The Merchant of Venice. Commissioned by Folger Theatre as part of the 2016 celebration of 400 years of Shakespeare and in tandem with the Folger exhibition America's Shakespeare, playwright Aaron Posner sets this new exploration of class and difference in our own political place of power, Washington, D.C., just after the Civil War.
