The Martha Graham Dance Company will host its annual gala on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. This special gala evening will honor Barbara Cohen, a Trustee of the Martha Graham Center, for her generosity and service to the company. Proceeds from the gala support the creation of new works and preservation of Martha Graham masterpieces. The event is the nonprofit organization's largest annual fundraiser.

He is dying and there is nothing he can do about it. Queen Marguerite is keeping track of time. 'You will die in 1 hour and 30 minutes!' But the king refuses to listen. He chooses instead to love Queen Marie. '1 hour and 13 minutes left!' The clock is ticking... Surrounded by his two wives, his cleaning lady, his doctor and a guard, Berenger is learning to accept the inevitable.

NY Public Library for the Performing Arts Examines 'HEAD SHOTS' in New Exhibition


Almost as long as there has been photography, performers have used portraits to represent themselves for casting and promotion. In the new exhibition Head Shots: Performer Portraits from Daguerreotype to Digital, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center in Lincoln Center showcases its vast collection of head shots to illustrate the photos' role in the casting and marketing process, as well as how these pictures evolved alongside modern technology. Head Shots is currently on display in The Library for the Performing Arts' Vincent Astor Gallery, Shelby Cullom Davis Museum through August 8, 2015.
