NY Gilbert & Sullivan Players to Sail Across the Pond for Harrogate's 2014 International G&S Festival, Aug 5-10
The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players (NYGASP), America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, will travel to Harrogate, England to represent the United States at the 21st annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival. The company will perform productions of The Pirates of Penzance & The Yeomen of the Guard August 5-10th at the acclaimed event. This year the world's largest G & S celebration will host 60 productions with 2,000 performers and special events at multiple venues in Harrogate from August 2nd through August 26th. The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players has presented over 2,600 performances throughout the United States, Canada, and England. Incorporating a full orchestra, its productions feature contemporary energy while retaining a traditional respect for each of the G&S masterpieces. New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players is considered by many to be the nation's "leading custodian of the G&S classics."
Starting October 12th, NYGASP will launch its 40th Anniversary Season at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts (566 LaGuardia Place) with productions of: Ruddigore: Saturday, November 1 (2PM & 8PM); Sunday, November 2 (3PM).
