Making Books Sing & The New York Public Library presents

MY CITY PARK

June 5 - August 30

This month, the New York Public Library and Making Books Sing , a family theater and arts education nonprofit, will present My City Park, for children ages 3-10.

When Milo finds out that his favorite city park is going to be torn down and replaced with a shopping mall, he seeks out the help of his two best friends, Odessa the Owl and Bucky the Squirrel. This 45-minute educational performance features puppetry, original songs, and audience participation.

My City Park promotes the value of shared green community spaces within urban settings through songs that celebrate New York City. Children will learn how much trees and nature contribute to our overall physical, mental and emotional well-being.

"Children can do a lot to preserve and maintain their city parks, and this original musical shows them how they can get involved," says My City Park playwright Brooke Boertzel.
