The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents (NYMF)  A LETTER TO Harvey Milk 2012 Richard Rodgers AWARD FINALIST, a selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's 2012 Link Project.

Synopsis
A LETTER TO Harvey Milk, a finalist for this year’s Richard Rodgers Award, will be a featured production of the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Opening night is set for July 23 at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The musical, based on the short story, "A Letter To Harvey Milk" by Lesléa Newman (Heather Has Two Mommies), is one of only ten shows chosen out of four hundred by NYMF for its Next Link Project. San Francisco, 1986. When Harry, a retired kosher butcher, wanders into the writing class taught by Barbara, a young Jewish lesbian, he doesn’t foresee the problems that will arise from sharing his impassioned letter to his late friend Harvey. But Barbara’s demands and Harry’s nightmares are just the beginning. Will love, humor and delicatessen enable him to finally confront his long-buried past?Whatever Harry’s choice, he’ll have plenty of advice from his dead-but-feisty wife and surprisingly, from Harvey Milk.
