Wolf Trap has announced the following upcoming performances:

Crosby, Stills & Nash

Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 8pm

$45 in-house, $30 lawn

Legendary folk rock trio Crosby, Stills & Nash arrive at Wolf Trap for an evening of time honored harmonies supplemented by an energized rock ‘n’ roll flair. This summer CSN will release CSN 2012, a two CD/DVD set with new songs and a few timeless classics. Formed in 1968 after
each of the members left their own popular ensembles, CSN released
their 1969 self-titled debut, featuring hits like “Helplessly Hoping”
and “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.” The same year CSN won a GRAMMY for Best
New Artist. Over the years CSN has maintained immense popularity as a
group, celebrating a 1997 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame.

Strap in for an evening of Broadway hits from Mamma Mia, Dream Girls,
Rock of Ages, and more sung by four of today’s greatest talents.
Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer will conduct the National Symphony
Orchestra alongside artistic director Robert Schafer and The City
Choir of Washington. Broadway veterans Rob Evan, who recently made his
Carnegie Hall debut as a soloist, and Doug LaBrecque, originator of
the title role in Broadway’s Jekyll & Hyde, will be joined by
newcomers Morgan James, star of Frank Wildhorn's Wonderland and
LaKisha Jones, a top four finalist during the 2007 season of American
Idol.

Maestro Steven Reineke, Principal Pops Conductor of the National
Symphony Orchestra, along with music director Juilan Wachner and The
Washington Chorus are set to lead an eager Wolf Trap audience through
an epic evening featuring The Music of John Williams, representing of
some of the greatest music in movie history. Composer John Williams is
the second most nominated person in Academy Award history with 45
nominations and five wins. Williams has created more than 140 pieces
of work throughout his six-decade career including “Luke’s Theme” from
Star Wars, the two-tone score in Jaws and the main theme, “The Raiders
March,” for Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Matisyahu

Mixing traditional Jewish themes with reggae, hip-hop, and
beat-boxing, Matisyahu first came on to the reggae scene in 2004 with
his debut album, Shake Off the Dust…Arise, featuring the hit single
“King Without a Crown.” He now arrives for a highly anticipated Wolf
Trap debut appearance. Since 2004, Matisyahu has released six more
albums, two of which were certified gold, Live at Stubbs (2005) and
Youth (2006). This July he will release his seventh album, Spark
Seekers, under his own label, Fallen Sparks Records via Thirty
Tigers/RED. Known for giving incendiary, high energy performances,
audiences shouldn’t miss this rare opportunity to see rare Matisyahu
in a live setting.

Dirty Heads

SoCal rockers the Dirty Heads blend reggae, rock, hip-hop, and pop to
create their fresh and upbeat sound. Their 2008 debut album, Any Port
in the Storm, reached No. 7 on Billboard’s top alternative albums
chart and the single, “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome Ramirez of Sublime
with Rome, held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s rock and alternative
charts for 11 weeks in 2010. The band had their music featured in
several films including Surf’s Up (2007) and Surfer, Dude (2008) as
well as on the videogame soundtrack for Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam.
Their newest album, Cabin by the Sea, will be released later this
month.
