The BroadwayWorld Student Center is a comprehensive Student Database listing college and university performing arts programs across the country making it easier for prospective students by showcasing programs searchable by schools, location, degrees and concentrations.

The Student Center also offers a show calendar of college and high-school productions where schools can upload photos, videos, cast lists, articles and other media content for each of their shows. BWW will be combing through all content regularly and will launch weekly feature stories highlighting productions locally and nationally that have provided us with this extra content.

Today, we're thrilled to feature the Department of Theatre Arts at Liberty University in Lynchburgh, Virginia!

Students enrolled in Theatre at Liberty can pursue Bachelor of Arts degrees with Performance, Production or Education concentrations. A minor in Theatre Arts is also available.

The Department provides instruction in the theory and practice of theatre performance and production in order to prepare students for professional stage careers, for graduate study in Theatre Arts, and for a life of growing appreciation for the theatre and dramatic arts.

Students may take classes toward a Theatre Arts major with specific concentrations in production, performance or education. A minor is offered for those who do not plan on pursuing theatre as a career, and all non-majors and minors are encouraged to audition for productions each year.

The department puts on a number of productions at the Tower Theater each year, including dramas, comedies and musicals, in addition to student-produced work. Liberty University students also compete at national festivals for theatre arts with its renowned faculty.

The 2012-2013 mainstage season will produce a variety of works, including the upcoming THE GLASS MENAGERIE, playing October 26 thru November 3 in the Tower Theatre. Other productions include SHE LOVES ME, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, ALL MY SONS, and the musical TARZAN. For tickets and more information, click here.
