THE MERCY PROJECT - Fairfield Theater Company - Stage One

Auditions for professional non-equity male actors/vocalists being held on Thursday, Aug. 15, for a performance on Saturday, Oct. 19, at FTC Stage One. Needed are 3 males portraying 25 year olds and 1 male portraying a 50 year old. This is for the debut performance of an all new high energy rock musical. Each player will have a minimum of 2 solo numbers, plus some ensemble work. The lead gets ample stage time and has 7 songs... a chance to be a star for a night. More shows planned for 2020, which will be real paying gigs, if you choice to stay on board. Compensation for this show is a stipend to cover travel costs, minimum of $100, more based on ticket sales.

Characters are:

  • Mike Mercy - Leading man, nice guy in love with the perfect girl, but stumbles at times due to his routine of getting high
  • Burnt Bobby - Mike's friend and bad influence, as the name would suggest
  • Chip The Dick - A chum from high school who has anger issues and constantly clashes with Bobby
  • Maxwell - The older neighbor who offers guidance to his younger friends, but his wisdom ofter falls on deaf ears
  • Lindsey - Mike's girlfriend and all-around sweetheart (position filled)
  • Sonya - Mike's flirty coworker who hangs out with the boys (position filled)

A vocal coach and choreographer will help work out the stage performances.

For the audition:

  1. Please prepare a pop/rock or contemporary musical theater song that shows off range and personality. A piano and amplifier will be provided, but no accompanist. You may play music with an instrument or sing to a downloaded song.
  2. Contact us ahead of time for appointment time and to receive a link to an original song to practice ahead of time. Reading off the lyric sheet is fine.
  3. Head shot and resume, if available.

If interested but cannot make the date, we will accept video auditions, contact us for directions. Audition location is the High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Rd, 06477.

Rehearsals will start off on Tuesday nights beginning Aug. 20. The night may change when reaching the point of working with the live band. Rehearsal location will be in Milford, CT.
