THROUGHLINE THEATRE COMPANY 2016 SEASON - Throughline Theatre Company

Throughline Theatre Company announces auditions for their 2016 Season!

Throughline Theatre Company returns to Grey Box in Lawrenceville for the 2016 season with season’s theme of “Can You Trust the Government?”

Auditions for Throughline Theatre Company’s 2016 Season will be held at the Grey Box Theatre on February 13th, from 12-3 PM, and February 14th, from 6-9 PM. Auditions are by appointment; walk-ins are welcome, but will be fit in as time allows. Please submit a request for an appointment by going to
www.throughlinetheatre.org/auditions.html, and filling out the fields at the bottom of the page, with first and second preference for audition time. Please prepare a 1-2 minute monologue; if you do not have a monologue, material for a cold read will be provided for you. Please also bring with you a headshot and acting resume.

The 2016 season’s throughline is “Can You Trust the Government?” Productions include: Judgment at Nuremburg by Abby Mann, directed by Liam Macik (production dates June 10th-18th); Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, directed by Joey Yow (production dates July 22nd-30th); The Censor by David L. Williams, directed by Sarah McPartland (production dates September 16th-24th); and Yankee Tavern by Steven Dietz, directed by Vance Weatherly (production dates October 28th-November 5th).

The Censor is the winner of Throughline’s third New Play Competition. Charlotte Coates, a government censor for a repressive country, thinks she is going to be elevated to a cabinet position but is instead shuttled away to be the censor for a far-flung territory. Charlotte takes out her anger about being tossed aside by hiring Nellis, a transgender artist (whose work has been censored), to paint her portrait. She grows closer to him and his friends, and makes plans to escape the territory and expose the repressive regime. David L. Williams has written more than twenty-five plays, and has had his work produced across the United States, as well as internationally. He is a graduate of the theatre department of Cornell University, received his MFA in playwriting from the University of Nebraska, and resides in Bellefonte, PA.

For any questions, please contact Lauren Connolly, Production Manager, at
lconnolly@throughlinetheatre.org. Throughline Theatre Company casts without regard to age, gender, race, and ethnicity where possible, and actors are paid through Equity for Artists.
