Hello! My name is Skyler Kragt and I'm producing two short films for SAC 300. We are holding auditions on Friday, November 1st from 12noon-4pm in the ISS Media Center (2nd Floor of the MLB). The films will be shown in the Lightworks Film Festival at the end of the semester.
We are planning on filming The Quest on November 15, 16 and 17th, and Javier's Trick on November 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Because we are a student-run production, we cannot offer monetary compensation to our actors, but will provide food on set as well as a copy of the completed film. Below is a brief description of each film as well as a character breakdown of the roles available.
The Quest:
This film is short, fun and a little campy. It's about a Prince that goes on an adventure to rescue the Princess Pear from the clutches of the Evil Lord. Along the way, the Prince is met with several obstacles. The Quest explores the power of imagination as well as pokes fun at the Medieval Knight/Call-to-Adventure genre.
Available Roles:
The Prince: (age 18-29) He is the stereotypical prince: tall, muscular, good hair. The Prince is in love with Princess Pear, and when he finds out that she has been captured, he sets out on a quest to find her. The Prince will not take no for an answer. Stage combat experience is preferred.
Wizard: (>35 years old). The wizard is mysterious, quirky and impatient.
Dark Knight: (age 18-29) The Dark Knight is intimidating; he's the evil counterpart of the Prince. Stage combat experience is preferred.
The Minion: (age 18-29). The Minion is the Evil Lord's henchman. He's sniveling and small-statured; greedy and impulsive. He also he a little bit of a split personality (think Gollum/Smeagol).
Evil Lord: (preferably >30 years old) The Evil Lord is a cunning mastermind. He has captured Princess Pear to lure the Prince into his lair. He's keeping a big secret that weighs on him. Stage combat experience is preferred.
Princess Pear: (age 18-29) Stunning. Smart. In love with the Prince. Stereotypical tomboy/girl-next-door/fiery Princess.

Javier's Trick
Javier goes with his friends to a magic show. While there, he gets picked as the volunteer for a disappearing trick. However, this is no ordinary magic show, and when Javier gets 'disappeared', he finds himself in another world.
Available Roles:
Javier: (age 18-29) Javier is incredibly lonely and sad. When he finds himself in this new world, it gives him hope that maybe he's not as alone as he once thought.
The Magician: (>40 y.o.) Brooding and mysterious, the Magician never reveals his tricks.
The Girl: (age 18-29) The Girl is beautiful and enchanting. Javier sees her in his fantasy world, and becomes determined to find her in real life.
