GARDEN THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
THE MUSIC MAN
Auditions for All Roles will be Held February 13-18 at the Garden Theatre
WINTER GARDEN, FL (January 4, 2012) – The Garden Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for its third self-produced spring musical The Music Man, directed by Claud Smith III. Auditions will be held Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, February 13 - 18 at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street in Winter Garden). This large production requires a minimum of 9 adult females, 12 adult males, multiple female and male teenagers, and multiple children (ages 7and up). Children will be double-cast and have alternating performances. Several non-singing roles are also available. Most performers will be asked to sing and dance during the audition.

SET CONSTRUCTION HELP WANTED
The Garden Theatre is also seeking volunteers to help with set construction for The Music Man. Construction will take place certain weekday evenings beginning mid-January. Experience in painting, carpentry and set design is preferred, but not required. Please bring with you any carpentry and painting tools you may have. Schedules are flexible. Fast-talking Harold Hill convinces the parents of a small town in Iowa to buy instruments and uniforms for their youngsters, but chaos ensues as Hill's credentials are questioned and he is called upon to prove himself to the citizens of River City. The Music Man marks the third annual production created by the Garden Theatre, in which professional and non-professional performers are blended into a cohesive cast, costumed with colorful clothes and showcased on a custom-crafted set that utilizes state-of-the-art lighting, sound and special effects. The Music Man is a celebration for everyone, whether they’re on stage or in the audience!
