THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA - Jefferson Performing Arts Society
AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

November 14 - 1 PM to 5 PM

Westwego, LA
Jefferson Performing Arts Society announces auditions for three available roles in its upcoming reprise of the BIG EASY AWARD winning, The Light in the Piazza. All available roles are members of the Italian Naccarelli family. All those auditioning should be prepared to read with an Italian accent. Men should prepare 16 bars of a song that suits their character. Women must prepare to sing The Joy You Feel from the show (copies available if needed).

Auditions will be held Saturday, November 14 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Teatro Wego (177 Sala Ave, Westwego, LA). Each hour has 10 available slots for auditions. We encourage all those auditioning to sign up for the earlier hours if possible.

All roles are paid! Equity members are welcome to audition.

Rehearsals begin December 14, with a Christmas break.
Performances are January 22 - 31 (Fri/Sat at 7:30 PM, Sun at 2 PM) at the new Jefferson Performing Arts Center (6400 Airline Dr, Metairie, LA).

Available Roles and Descriptions:
Giuseppe Naccarelli: Fabrizio's older brother. A lady's man. Stage age: late 20's to mid 30's. Must move well. The most physical character in the show. B flat to D. Speaks in Italian. Should have dance experience.
Franca Naccarelli: Guiseppes' wife. Very attractive, passionate and strong. Unhappy in her marriage. Stage age: late 20's to mid 30's. Darker Soprano or Mezzo Soprano with strong head voice. Low B flat to high B. Speaks Italian, and speaks English with Italian accent. Must prepare The Joy You Feel (copies available if needed).
Signor Naccarelli: Fabrizio's father. Very charming, charismatic and smooth. Loves his family but has a firm authority as head of the household. Stage age: late 40's to 60. Low A to D. Speaks Italian, and speaks English with Italian accent.
