SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS - Bainbridge Performing Arts

Don’t Miss BPA’s Auditions for SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS

December 9 & 10: Tuesday and Wednesday @ 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Bainbridge Performing Arts is thrilled to present auditions on December 9 and 10 for SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS, the lyrical saga adapted from David Guterson’s acclaimed story of mystery, love, and identity.

SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS runs March 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, and 29, with a Pay-What-You-Can Preview on March 12. Rehearsals extend January 20 – March 5, 2015. BPA is seeking one lead woman and two lead men, plus an ensemble of three – five women and six - eight men, ages 18 and up to play multiple characters. All roles are open to audition. Those auditioning should prepare a one-two minute monologue. A detailed character breakdown is available on our website.

This haunting production is directed by Kate Carruthers (The Kentucky Cycle, Distracted, Private Eyes, Arcadia, The Grapes of Wrath, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, More Fun Than Bowling, Anton in Show Business, Art and The Philadelphia Story, and more). Against the backdrop of an America torn by World War Two, cultures and communities clash when a Japanese American islander is accused of murder. The story deftly shifts from courtroom to strawberry fields to bloody battlefront, digging for hard truths buried in a forgotten history.

SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS is produced by special arrangement with Book-It Repertory Theatre. Our Corporate Sponsor is The Maggi Rogers Fund, and the production is supported in part by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

BPA auditions for SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS are Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 & 10 at 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only, and interested parties are requested to email
dhadlock@bainbridgeperformingarts.org to schedule an audition.
