Columbus Children’s Theatre announces Auditions for the 2013 Youth Performance Company and
Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr
(Columbus) - Columbus Children’s Theatre Conservatory will hold open auditions for the Summer Youth Performance Company and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show.The Little Mermaid, Jr. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.
About the Summer Youth Performance Company
Acceptance into the Summer Youth Performance Co. is by auditions. This is a training company. Those accepted into the company must be between the ages of 10-15. Company members will receive training through the summer that will include workshops and classes in acting, voice, movement, audition technique, and scene study. Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. performances begin August 7 and run through August 18, 2013. Rehearsals will be held Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning June 24, 2013. All classes are taught by professional theatre artists. Tuition for the Summer Youth Performance Co. is $300. Financial Aid forms are available upon request

OPEN AUDITIONS: Young Actors (ages 10-15) are needed for Columbus Children’s Theatre’s Summer Youth Performance Company production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr. Auditions will be held Sunday April 14 and Monday April 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Park Street Theatre with Call Backs Tuesday April 17. Please bring a recent photograph or snapshot, your resume, a one minute cutting of a Disney or Musical Theatre song with sheet music and your calendar to indicate conflicts during the rehearsal schedule.
