AUDITION NOTICE - ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – Auditions September 24, Call Backs September 25
General Auditions for Imagination Theater’s Spring, 2017, production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Imagination Theater on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville. All auditioners must check in from 8:30 to 9:00am. The General Auditions will last from 9:00am to Noon. As Alice in Wonderland is not a musical, auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, improvisations, and basic stage movement. Auditioners should wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing and bring along snacks and water. Auditioners should not wear sandals.
35 roles are available for children and adults. All roles are available. Minimum age for children auditioners is 8 years old. The cast also includes roles for eight young dancers with strong movement and reading skills. The role of Alice will be double cast. Notifications of auditioners invited to participate in the Call-Back Auditions will be posted at Imagination Theater at 1:00pm on Saturday.
Call-Back Auditions will be held at Imagination Theater on Sunday, September 25, from 1:00-4:00pm.
All auditioners interested in being considered for the role of Alice must prepare a one-minute monologue (not from the show) for the General Auditions. A limited number of perusal scripts will be available for check out from the theater.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is an encore of the original Elly Award-winning production written by Peter Wolfe and Sarah Wolfe. Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was first performed at Imagination Theater in 2001 and includes all of the familiar and fanciful characters from the Lewis Carol novel; the White Rabbit, Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Door Mouse, the Queen and King of Hearts, the Queen’s Card Soldiers, the Queen’s court, and many more fun characters.
