Call Type: Open Call. Seeking non-union (stipend) & AEA (replacements only) for Special Appearance (contract pending).
Dates of Auditions: Thursday April 17th (Open Call) and Friday April 18th (Callbacks).

Rehearsals: May 5 - May 21 – twenty hours of rehearsal/week for 2 weeks + tech (5/20) and dress (5/21).
Performances: May 22 through June 1 – 4 shows per week, Thurs - Sun.

Description: Speranza Theatre Company is holding auditions for their upcoming production of A PIECE OF MY HEART, by Shirley Lauro. A PIECE OF MY HEART will be performed May 22nd through June 1st at the historic Barrow Mansion located in downtown Jersey City, NJ. Please note, rehearsals and performances are in Jersey City, accessible by Path train to Grove Street (Journal Square line.)
Breakdown:
Seeking non-AEA actors for the following:
Steele 35-55. Female. Black. Extremely strong, military bearing. Very intelligent, outgoing, great sense of humor. A pragmatist. Southern.
MaryJo 17-37. Blond, pretty, outgoing, bubbly personality. Texas accent, Sexy; a funny comedienne quality; but sad inside. Must be skillful guitarist and singer.
American Men 18-60. Tall, very American looking. Versatile actor needed for a variety of roles.
The following roles are cast. Seeking replacements only:
Martha 22-42. Strong, self-composed, aura of self-discipline, military bearing. Strong face, American, almost pioneer feeling. (Replacements only)
Sissy 20-40. Sweet, feminine, outgoing. Sense of fun. Also sense of harmony and warmth to personality. (Replacements only)
Whitney 21-41. Tall, slender, withdrawn, contained. Very aristocratic in bearing and quality. A Vassar graduate. (Replacements only)
Leeann 20-40. Asian or Amerasian. Attractive. Strong, tough, determined in nature. An urban, hip quality to her personality. (Replacements only)
