ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR
4 x 4
The 2nd Annual One Act Play Festival
Fair Lawn Recreation Department’s resident theatre company, Old Library Theatre, announces auditions for its upcoming production, “4x4: The 2nd Annual One Act Play Festival,” a showcase of original works by new playwrights. Auditions will be held Tuesday, December 4 & Wednesday, December 5 from 7-8:30pm at the Fair Lawn Recreation Center, located at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, NJ.
Seeking 3-6 men and 4-7 women for the roles, as listed below. ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE.
"The Stand-In,” written by Brett Hursey, directed by Rachel Lichter: A young actress unexpectedly finds herself auditioning opposite a theatrical legend.
Characters—
Mandy (20s, female): A young actress.
Director (any age/gender): A theatrical director.
Xocko (any age/gender): A dramatic puppeteer.
"Fading,” written by Philip Kaplan, directed by Marilyn Schilke: Two brothers grapple with the realities of having a mother with Alzheimer's.
Characters—
Todd (40s, male): An angry and confused son.
Scott (30s, male): Todd’s successful younger brother.
Gwynn (60+, female): Their mother, suffering from Alzheimer’s.
"Far North,” written by Victoria Z. Daly, directed by Brendan Joel Bartlett: An urbane woman records a video message for a friend's newborn granddaughter, revealing more than she expected to.
Characters—
Phyllis (65+, female): An urbane woman, not as together as she seems.
"We're Having a Baby!,” written by Irene L. Pynn, directed by Bill Kaufman: A man tries convincing his wife that he's pregnant.
Characters—
Don (20s/30s, male): A man’s man.
Cynthia (20s/30s, female): Don’s no-nonsense wife.
Dr. Hubbard (any age, male): Their OB-GYN.
Performances will occur Friday, February 8, 2013 at 8pm, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 8pm and Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2pm.

Old Library Theatre was started in 1968 in Fair Lawn by a handful of dreamers who wanted to make the joy of theatre performance available to everyone. It is a community theatre organization, located in Bergen County, NJ, committed to producing quality productions at an affordable price.
