Firebrand pianist Eldar Nebolsin has a dazzling capacity to capture every nuance of the great masters in performances that are fresh and invigorating. His talents will be put to good use in Tchaikovsky’s luminescent Piano Concerto No. 2. Such splendid music is multiplied in Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier Suite where it bubbles and flows like the very best champagne in a fantasy of blissful decadence. By contrast, it is with a gentle delicacy that Ravel unravels his wonderfully sweet and whimsical Mother Goose Suite. We are excited to welcome conductor Michael Stern to illuminate the glistening colours of the orchestra throughout this opulent evening.
