The Barn Theatre in Montville, New Jersey continues its 88th Season by holding open auditions on November 17th and November 18th for its upcoming production of "Can Mrs. Claus Save Christmas?", written by Ruth Anne Pattee will be directed by Carla Kendall.

AUDITION DATES:
Sunday, October 25 from 6 pm to 8 pm
Tuesday, October 27 from 7 pm to 9 pm

PERFORMANCE DATES:
Saturday, December 12th at 11:00 am
Saturday , December 12th at 2:00 pm
Sunday, December 13th at 2:00 pm

SHOW DESCRIPTION:
It is two weeks until Christmas and exhausted Santa wistfully dreams of a vacation in Hawaii. But even with the elves working hard and Mrs. Claus checking the list of good girls and boys, he just doesn’t have the time. Meanwhile, villain Gil Bates, a multi-millionaire video game manufacturer, longs for the one thing he does not have — the love of children. Bates knows that Santa is loved by all kids, so he decides to kidnap Santa and force him to reveal the secret of his magic. Bates successfully lures Santa to Hawaii, supposedly to check out a new video game, but he underestimates the determination of Mrs. Claus and her helpful elves, Shimmer and Twinkle.

CAST REQUIREMENTS:

Santa Claus:(Male late 40's and up) Jolly and tired

Mrs. Claus: (Female late 40's and up) Concerned wife who wants to help Santa in any way she can

Television Reporter:(Male or Female late 20's and up) Professional and serious about reporting

Shimmer - an elf (Male 20's and up) Head Elf- always coming up with ideas to get Santa to let him ride in the sleigh

Twinkle - an elf (Male 20's and up) Shimmer's side kick - dances to the beat of a different drummer

Gilbert Bates-(Male late 20"s and up) Multi millionaire video game manufacturer- some say he is evil, he says he just wants to be loved.

Harriet- (Female late 20's and up ) Gilbert Bates Secretary-Good at her job and loves it!

Oswald - (Male late 20's and up) Gilbert Bates Assistant-Good at his job and loves it!

Henchmen (Male 20's and up) Work for Gilbert Bates

Hawaiian Dancer (2) (Female 10 and up) They deliver a special message to Santa

Elves (Male/Female 10 and up) LOVE making toys

Readings will be from sides provided

All roles are available. Casting is open, and newcomers are welcome and encouraged!

CAST MEMBERS should be prepared to rehearse 2-3 times a week, be available for all evening during tech week (December 6-11) and for all performances. Questions regarding the production should be sent via e-mail to carla_kndll@yahoo.com
