After the resounding success of conductor Lawrence Foster last spring he returns at the Residentie Orchestra with once again an all-French program. The young German violinist Arabella Steinbacher, by The New York Times hailed for its "polished technique and a nice varied palette of timbres", makes a solo appearance in Ravel's virtuosic Tzigane ' ' and ' ' Ernest Chausson's Poème.
Latter left early life in 1899 after a tragic bike accident and made the success of this masterpiece. Finally, the first Symphony of Bizet he wrote just the age of 17, but that only after his death was first run.
