The Peck School of the Arts has announced its upcoming events.

THIS WEEK:

July 8 - Peck School of the Arts at Gathering on the Green, 5-8pm

Visit the Peck School of the Arts table TONIGHT at Gathering on the Green. We'll be celebrating UW-Milwaukee Music alum Willie Pickens, who opens at 6:30pm for Tierney Sutton. And there will be plenty of information about our upcoming 2010-11 season, too! Visit Gathering on the Green online.

July 9 - Biennial George Goundie Memorial Scholarship Exhibition and Silent Auction Opening Reception, 5-8pm, Union Art Gallery

Dedicated to the memory of Professor Emeritus George Goundie, the exhibition and silent auction raises money for student scholarships in the Peck School of Arts Sculpture Department. The exhibition will include a variety of artworks in various mediums with all pieces being available for purchase through a silent auction held concurrent with the show dates. The auction will close at 8:00pm on Friday, July 23rd. Visit the Peck School News Blog for more info.

July 10 - ScreenDance, 9:15pm, Danceworks (outdoors)

Now in its fourth year, ScreenDance unites the Departments of Dance and Film at UWM with the Danceworks DanceLAB to bring innovative dance films to Milwaukee audiences. The award-winning international films are selected through Dance Film Association, a non-profit dedicated to heightening awareness of dance films and dances created specifically for the camera. ScreenDance is an exciting outdoor film experience, with a screen hung outside of the Danceworks building. Patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Tickets: $10. Call (414) 277-8480 or visit Danceworks online at www.danceworksmke.org.
