BMO Harris Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center Series announced that $6,725 was raised to support the Center for Veterans' Issues (CVI) as part of War Horse Heroes Night on Wednesday, January 8. The producers of War Horse made a per ticket donation on Heroes Night and then BMO Harris Bank made an additional donation of $5,000 to support CVI. A total of $6,725 has been raised for this important organization.

"We're continually looking for ways to further support the many veterans who have served our nation with great courage and dedication. Our partnership with the Marcus Center is a great example of collaboration for a common cause," said Steven Gorzek, Vice President, Business Banking, BMO Harris Bank, and Board Chairman of the Center for Veterans' Issues in Milwaukee. "The fundraising efforts of War Horse and the Marcus Center along with our donation will help the Center for Veterans' Issues continue to provide holistic services that meets the needs of veterans and their families."

The Center for Veterans' Issues was founded in 1989 to provide management and technical assistance to agencies serving minority veterans as well as direct service provision for homeless veterans through housing and wraparound supportive services. Although best known for serving homeless veterans recovering from addiction, disabilities and other barriers to employment, the mission has always been to support the concerns of all Veterans and their families as well as the community as a whole. Their vision is to address human afflictions affecting veterans-men and women whose selfless service has made our freedom possible.

"We are always looking for ways to engage our veterans at the Marcus Center," said Paul Mathews, Marcus Center President & CEO. "And by working with the show and our series sponsor, BMO Harris Bank, we were able to bring to life our mission of Honoring the Dead by Serving the Living through arts and peace, while fulfilling our role as a Milwaukee County War Memorial."
