MENDELSSOHN Hebrides Overture BRAHMS Double Concerto BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 5
Most concertos feature a single soloist, but the concerto on this MPYO programme features two. MPO’s Timothy Peters and Mátyás Major share the stage as soloists in Brahms’s Double Concerto – a work of ardent lyricism and soaring beauty. Sharing the podium are two conductors, who open the programme with Mendelssohn’s haunting Hebrides seascape and close it with the world’s most famous symphony, Beethoven’s Fifth. Ages: Children below the age of 8 shall not be admitted.
