Actor Dustin Tucker is a critically acclaimed and popular figure on the Portland, Maine, theatre scene. Known especially for his work at Portland Stage and the Theater at Monmouth, Tucker's artistic journey began in Amarillo, Texas, continued at Interlochen Arts Academy, and then on to Broadway, off-Broadway, and the national regional theatre scene. In recent years he has come to call Maine his home base. He is an Affiliate Artist with Portland Stage and is currently garnering rave reviews there in the one-man show, BUYER AND CELLAR. Other work at Portland Stage has included FULLY COMMITTED, BACH AT LEIPZIG, GREATER TUNA, SANTALAND DIARIES, and VIGIL, while he has appeared for nine seasons in Monmouth in THE GLASS MENAGERIE, HENRY IV, Pt. 1, and KING LEAR, among others. Broadway World caught up with Tucker in his dressing room following a student matinee of BUYER AND CELLAR, as the actor shared his story about finding his vocation, his two decades as an actor, and his embracing Maine as an artistic home.
