Eileen Phelan Named to Board of Portland Ovations

Eileen Phelan has been named to the Board of Directors of Portland Ovations the 81 year-old not-for-profit performing arts organization based in Portland, Maine.

Phelan, a Cape Elizabeth resident and Vice President of Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty in Portland started her career in the film and television industry in New York City. Switching gears and entering into publishing, Phelan went to work for New York City's weekly newspaper The Village Voice as the Marketing and Promotions Manager. While at The Voice, Phelan produced the OBIE Awards, the Off and Off-Off Broadway Theater Awards and went on to receive her Masters of Fine Arts in Theater Direction from Brooklyn College.

Eileen founded the not-for-profit theater company, Sightlines Theater Company, which produced Off-Off Broadway Theater Productions for ten years. She also worked for several other not-for-profit organizations in the areas of marketing and event fundraising, including The New York Village Halloween Parade, The Children's Museum of the Arts and The House of Elder Artists.
