Associate Director of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts to Attend ISPA Congress

Abby Shue, Associate Director of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, has been awarded a fellowship from the International Society of Performing Artists (ISPA), and will attend the ISPA Congress at the Julliard School in New York City in January. Only 75 fellowships have been awarded since 2007, and it provides Abby with the opportunity to engage with leaders from some of the world's most significant presenting organizations, performing arts centers, artist management agencies, and other related professionals.

As a part of the Fellowship, Abby will be attending several seminars, receptions and conferences while in New York on such topics as entrepreneurial ideas for sustaining arts organizations, balancing artistic innovation and the bottom line, and perfecting the "elevator pitch."

She was also selected for Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) Emerging Leadership Institute (ELI),an intensive two-day seminar before the APAP Conference that provides participants with many of the critical leadership skills they need now and in the future. Facilitated by professional practitioners in the field, ELI is an opportunity to engage in new professional relationships, exchange ideas in a confidential environment, become part of an expanding network of ELI alumni (now more than 200 alumni) and have an enhanced presence at the APAP Conference, the world's biggest event for presenters, artists, managers, agents and emerging leaders.

Abby has been with the Kentucky Center in various roles since 2009. Appointed as Associate Director in 2012, Abby is a member of the senior management team and implements innovative business practices, cultivates new audiences, and engages stakeholders in initiatives that position the Center for future vitality.
