Bade Bhai Sahab is one the famous stories of Premchand which presents our society`s structure in its true and real picture. The presents two kinds of psychologies by the two characters, a younger brother and an elder one. The elder brother believes in religiously following the set rules and regulations while the younger one thinks of living the life in his own way, adapting to the situation at hand.

The author has humorously commented upon the education system through the words of the elder brother. While the elder fails in the examination even after putting in many hours of study, the younger brother follows the smart way of studying and passes every time. In the end, the elder brother finds himself suffocated by the boundaries he confined himself to. At this point he decides to join his brother on his way to achieve his dreams. As Premchand puts it, `Traditions are made for men, men are not made for traditions`.
