Glamorous cellist Sol Gabetta performs with the world's most acclaimed orchestras. Here, she joins forces with the Basel Chamber Orchestra to present music by Beethoven and Schumann.

Born in Argentina of Russian and French parentage, and now living in Switzerland, Sol Gabetta is an artist who has surmounted her initial challenges and arrived at the peak of her profession. Since winning her first competition at the age of ten, she has gone on to win special prizes at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and the ARD competition in Munich – to mention just two examples.

The Basel Chamber Orchestra was formed in 1984 and continues the musical tradition hallmarked by Paul Sacher. They perform regularly with Sol Gabetta at her trademark Music Festival in Switzerland.
