HPU's Paul and Vi Loo Theatre presents HEDDA GABLER by Henrik Ibsen and directed by Joyce Maltby, tonight, April 5-May 5, 2013.

Ibsen, the father of modern drama, created one of the most confounding and complex characters when he first penned Hedda Gabler in 1891. Since then, Hedda has become one of the most talked about fictional women in all of drama, "the female Hamlet," She bewitches her audiences, and over a century later still has the capacity to shock. Just back from her honeymoon and bored with her marriage and domestic life, Hedda manipulates her situation to devastating effect. Through Hedda, Ibsen reveals the bitter conflicts and thwarted longings that lie just below the "civilized" transactions of daily life.

The cast features: Hedda Gabler - Julia Ubrankovics; George Tesman - Tony Nickelsen; Juliana Tesman - Victoria Gail-White; Judge Brack - Troy Apostol; Eilert Lovborg - Nick Barnum; Thea Elvsted - Catherine Leskovec; and Berte - Melinda Maltby.
