Seeking eight versatile actors to play multiple roles in an evening of four short plays by the brilliant Irish playwright Teresa Deevy. Outstanding ear and facility with Irish dialect and idiom essential.
Mint previously produced three full-length plays by Deevy: Wife to James Whelan (2010), Temporal Powers (2011) and Katie Roche (2013).
PREPARATION
Actors will read from sides, provided at the audition. Bring picture and resume.

Male Track One:
Mid-20’s. Charlie (Holiday House), Barney (In the Cellar…), Jim (King of Spain…), Mr. Bassett (Strange Birth) Youthful leading man with an easy sense of humor (Charlie) and a good dose of earnestness (Barney, Jim & Mr. Bassett)
Male Track Two:
30’s. Derek (Holiday House), Roddy (King of Spain…) Magnetism and charm. Roddy is a bit rough; Derek is more sensitive.
Male Track Three:
30’s-40’s Neil (Holiday House), Tom (In the Cellar…), Bill (Strange Birth) This Track has been Cast
Male Track Four:
60’s Martin (In the Cellar…), Peter (King of Spain…) Strong, earthy presence of a man who works with his hands. Gentle as Martin; fierce and unyielding as Peter.
Female Track One:
20’s. Hettie (Holiday House), Belle (In the Cellar…), Annie (King of Spain…) Youthful leading lady: Belle is sweet & lovely; Annie is a bold, wild creature, hard to tame. Hetty is a bit prim and a bundle of nerves.
Female Track Two:
mid-20s. Doris (Holiday House), Sara (Strange Birth Doris is sharp and passionate; Sara is delightful, warm and bubbly.
Female Track Three:
mid-20s. Jil (Holiday House), Mrs. Stims (Strange Birth) Jil is “beautifully reticent”; Stims is hard and bitter.
Female Track Four:
50’s-60’s. Mater (Holiday House, Patty (In the Cellar…), Mrs. Marks (King of Spain…), Mrs. Taylor (Strange Birth) A mature, maternal actress, capable of both earthy and ethereal charm.
