SEEKING

Equity actors for roles in THE NICETIES.

Summary and notes from the playwright: Zoe, a black student at a liberal arts college, is called into her white professor’s office to discuss her paper about slavery’s effect on the American Revolution. What begins as a polite clash in perspectives explodes into an urgent debate about race, history, and power Both of these women can be noble. Both of them can be charming. Both of them can be petulant, snotty, arrogant, overwhelmed and immature. Let them both be people. And resist the temptation to think of only one of them as a mouthpiece for the truth. When it comes to the facts of history, almost everything that both of the women in this play say is right.

Zoe Reed - Female, black, 20. A college student

Janine Bosko (CAST) - Female, white, early 60’s. A college professor.
